12 years old. I am in Grade 7.
How long does it take you to get to school? How do you get here?
I live close to the school [in the slum], so it is only a 12 minute walk.
Who do you live with? How many brothers and sisters do you have?
I have a 15 year old sister.
What do your parents do?
My Dad is a carpenter. My Mum works in a clinic.
What do you eat for breakfast? For lunch? For dinner?
I have bread and tea for breakfast. For lunch I have chips and sausage. My favourite food is chicken though.

How many children in your class?
There are 29 children in my class.
How do you like your teachers?
I like them.
What is your favourite subject?
Maths and Science are my favourite subjects.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a doctor because I like science.
Will you go to secondary school?
I want to go to Starehe school [a good secondary boarding school].
How many languages do you speak?
I speak English, Kiswahili and Luhya.
SPARE TIME
What is your favourite music?
I like Sean Paul.
Do you watch TV/Movies? What is your favourite programme? Film? Actors?
We have a TV at home. I like to watch Chuck Norris movies with kick-boxing in it. I also like Vitimbi [a local TV show].
What is your favourite sport?
Football. I am a striker.
What sports do you play? How often do you play sports? Do you play mostly at school or at home?
I play football at home with my friends, but we only have a real ball to play with at school.
Do you watch international sports? Do you support any international teams? Who is your favourite sports personality?
I watched the World Cup. I support Brazil and Cameroon, but I would love it if Kenya played.
I also support Arsenal. Thierry Henry is my favourite player.

Kevin Oliech [a Kenyan striker] and Conjestina [a Kenyan female boxer].

David Beckham.
What do you imagine the UK is like?
I don't know.
