I am 15, in Grade 1.
How long does it take you to get to school? How do you get here?
It takes me 10 minutes to walk to school.
Who do you live with? How many brothers and sisters do you have?
I live with my parents, my 2 brothers and my 2 sisters.
What do your parents do?
My father is a pastor and my mother is a secretary in Nairobi.
What do you eat for breakfast? For lunch? For dinner?
I usually have bread and tea for breakfast, chips and beans for lunch and rice and beef for dinner (which is my favourite meal).
HIV/AIDS
Has HIV/AIDS affected your life?
Some of my older friends are HIV positive, but they have access to drugs so they are doing OK. There is still a stigma about it.
Are you taught about HIV/AIDS at school?
Yes.

There are 27 pupils in my class.
How do you like your teachers?
Yes. I like them.
What is your favourite subject?
History.
What do you want to be? How do you see your future?
I would like to be a lawyer. I want to travel, maybe be a journalist, help in community projects.

I speak English, Swahili and Luhya (at home) and also French and German.

What is your favourite music?
I like gospel music and hip-hop.

I like the Wayans Brothers.

Football and Basketball.

I play football at school and at home. My friends have a ball.

I watch basketball and football on TV. My favourite players are Shaquille O'Neal and David Beckham. I support Arsenal and Manchester Utd.

What do you imagine the UK is like?
I imagine it is full of cities with skyscrapers, but also green countryside that is very clean. I think of Robin Hood.
